After what felt like an eternity of rain and cloudy skies, the sun is finally starting to make a comeback. I could not be any happier about this! To summon more of those sunshine vibes, I’ve curated a playlist of “sun” related songs. Consider this as an offering to the weather gods so that we may all be blessed with sunshine and clear skies. Enjoy xx

April Favourites: A Playlist

April was such an amazing month for new releases! There were so many albums that I was anticipating in April, and all of them were worth the wait. From the new Father John Misty to the new Kendrick Lamar, my ears have been over the moon with new tunes to listen to. I was even pleasantly surprised by the Harry Styles single that dropped (I’m really digging the song’s vibe. Very unexpected!). Also, can we talk about the new Alt-J singles?! I cannot wait till Relaxer comes out. It’s gonna be such a great album judging from 3WW and In Cold Blood (I can’t stop listening to both these songs). In addition to a handful of new tunes, I’ve had a bunch of older favourites on repeat as well. I’ve even got some Mozart in there from when I was cramming for exams. Enjoy the vibes xx

February Favourites: A Playlist

I’m the type of person who becomes obsessed with one song, and listens to it over and over again. February was a month that had plenty of songs that I obsessively played on repeat. I’ve taken the liberty of compiling all these songs into one playlist, mostly for my benefit, but also in case any of you were interested in knowing what constantly played on my speakers. It’s such a mish mash of genres, and there’s no rhyme or reason as to why I had these stuck in my head all month long.

Music To Keep You Focused

Midterm season is in full swing, and I can’t get myself to study. I do this thing where I go to the library, and I’ll sit there and stare at the same slide of a lecture powerpoint until I fall asleep. Other times, I’ll end up on Facebook watching cute dog videos, or on Instagram stalking the HotGuysReading hashtag. It’s a tough student life. In the midst of my non-studying, I have curated a playlist, so that you won’t have to suffer the same fate as me. This playlist will keep you awake (most of the songs are upbeat), without distracting you from reading (most of the songs are lyric free). Happy studying, and may the gods of academia look down upon you with graciousness and favour!

A Week Of Rain (A Playlist Of Sad Songs)

January is coming to an end, yet it doesn’t feel like winter here in Toronto. The usual snow covered trees and snow-filled sidewalks are no where to be found. Instead, we are faced with wet sidewalks and grey skies. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I have not seen sunlight in a week. I guess global warming isn’t just a hoax created by the Chinese to make US manufacturing non-competitive…. Quel dommage! If you are like me, and enjoy pretending that you are the troubled protagonist in a film – sitting by a window, watching the rain – then this playlist is perfect for you. Enjoy! xx

Curing the Monday blues + Playlist

I woke up this morning, and the Monday blues hit me hard. There’s just something about a Monday morning that instantly kills my good vibes. It must be a psychological thing. My brain must be programmed to believe that Mondays suck. The Monday blues won’t do, so I’ve decided to stop moping around and turn my Monday morning blues into Monday morning bliss. I grabbed all my favourite things (aka coffee, books, a face mask, and music), and plopped right back into bed pretending that it’s the weekend. Let me tell you, I feel a million times better after listening to the new Bon Iver tracks, and just relaxing in bed. So here’s a playlist that I curated this morning, which helped me get over the blues. Enjoy xx

Sunday Morning Playlist

Sunday mornings are for laying in bed with a cup of coffee while listening to some relaxing tunes. The only valid reason to get out of bed on a Sunday morning is to flip a record to its B-side. All real world worries and activities should be left untouched until Monday rolls along. Here’s a mix of songs that bring me maximum relaxation on Sunday mornings. Enjoy the good vibes!

Full moons have always fascinated me. In modern folklore, it is seen as a period of insanity and lunacy. However, it is really more of a period of renewal and abundance of energy. It is known to be the perfect time to manifest dreams and harness positive thoughts.
